Last checked Oct. 10, 2026. Refreshed every three months.
Inside West Palm Beach’s city limits, two of the four barbecue places are on South Dixie Highway, south of downtown. The others are on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and on North Tamarind Avenue, north of downtown.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside West Palm Beach’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 10, 2026. We added D’Best BBQ, Park Avenue BBQ Grille and Tropical Smokehouse from the state’s restaurant license records and their own sites, and we checked every address against the U.S. Census Bureau’s geocoder and the city boundary. Off Tha Bone BBQ holds a state license on North Haverhill Road, but its website would not load for us on Oct. 10, so we could not check its hours; it is left out until it does. A downtown barbecue market listed in the Downtown Development Authority’s directory holds no current state license and is not on its operator’s own site, so it is not here either. Caterers and food trucks are not included. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.

Park Avenue BBQ Grille is one of six locations of a Palm Beach County barbecue chain that started in Lake Park in 1988, its site says. It lists back ribs, St. Louis ribs, brisket and hand-pulled pork smoked each morning, with two sides and cornbread on every plate, plus wings in seven house sauces.
Pig Beach BBQ is a barbecue restaurant on South Dixie Highway from a group with restaurants in Queens, New York, and Boston. It describes its cooking as traditional barbecue technique with influences from around the world. Its menu includes smoked chicken wings, and its page says dogs are welcome in the outdoor area. See also our wings list.
Tropical Smokehouse calls itself “Florida’s craft barbecue” and lists this South Dixie Highway restaurant as its original location, with a second in Delray Beach. Its menu names baby back ribs, beef brisket, mojo pulled pork, smoked turkey and a brisket empanada. It takes takeout, delivery and catering orders online.
