The 2026 school grades
Florida grades every public school A through F each summer. Of the 21 graded schools inside the city in the state’s 2025-26 grades file, seven earned an A, eight a B and six a C; none earned a D or F. Several schools moved up a letter from 2025, including Palmetto, South Olive and Kinsey/Palmview elementaries and Forest Hill High, which went from B to A. Bear Lakes and Jeaga middle schools slipped from B to C. Bak and Dreyfoos have earned an A in every year the state has graded schools since 2001.
The cutoffs differ by level: an elementary school needs 62% of points for an A, a middle school 64% and a high school 65%. Look up any school’s test scores and graduation rate on the state’s school report cards.
Registering a student
New families start with Find My School, then register online or through the zoned school, according to the district’s registration page. Bring proof of residence. Choice programs, including Bak and Dreyfoos, have their own application on the district’s choice programs page.

On the Nov. 3 ballot
Palm Beach County voters will decide Tuesday, Nov. 3, whether the district may keep levying a 1-mill property tax for school operations from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2031. The district says the levy, in place since 2019, goes half to teacher pay, a quarter to arts, music, career and choice teachers, and a quarter to school police, security and mental health. The ballot question is on its 2026 referendum page. See our voting guide.
