The races and start times

The organizer lists five ways to run the weekend on its race page. The Sunday start time is marked “subject to change.”

Race Day Start
5K Saturday, Dec. 12 7:30 a.m.
10K Saturday, Dec. 12 7:30 a.m.
Marathon Sunday, Dec. 13 6 a.m.

The 10K is for runners who can finish in under 1 hour 30 minutes, the organizer says. The half marathon is described as walker friendly. Pace teams run in both the marathon and the half, and on the two-loop course half and full marathoners run together in the same pace groups.

The relay follows the marathon course in four legs: 7.9 miles, 4.9 miles, 8.3 miles and 5.1 miles. There is one exchange point for all legs, within walking distance of the start and finish. RunSignup lists the relay as open to ages 13 and up.

The course

The organizer calls the marathon course “100% flat” and says it is USATF certified, a Boston Marathon qualifier and ranked second fastest in Florida. It runs through downtown, historic neighborhoods and along palm-lined Flagler Drive past Manatee Lagoon, museums and parks, with views of the water.

The 2026 course maps are not posted yet. The organizer’s 2025 maps show last year’s routes: the 2025 Sunday course map and the 2025 5K and 10K course map.

Expo and packet pickup

The Al Packer Ford & Lincoln Health and Wellness Expo is at the Meyer Amphitheatre, 105 Datura St.:

  • Friday, Dec. 11, noon to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Marathon, half marathon and relay runners must pick up their packets at the expo. Bring the race confirmation email and a photo ID. The organizer says there is no packet pickup or registration on race day.

5K and 10K runners are strongly encouraged to pick up their packets at the expo on Friday. Limited pickup of shirts and bibs for those two races is available Saturday, Dec. 12, from 6 to 7:15 a.m.

Prize money

For 2026 the race offers $17,000 in marathon prize money, according to the organizer: $5,000 each to the overall male and female winners, $2,500 for second place and $1,000 for third place. Prize money goes by official results.

Road closures and parking

The organizer and the city have not posted 2026 road closures yet. Flagler Drive downtown is the start, the finish and much of the course, so expect it to be busy early Saturday and Sunday morning. Check the 2025 course maps for the streets the race used last year, and our road construction and closures guide in the week before the race. For downtown garages, see our parking and getting around guide.

Watch, volunteer and cheer

The organizer’s site links to race coverage on WPBF 25. Volunteer sign-up and the race’s Wacky Water Station contest are on its get involved page.
